NDA gate + viewing with OTP — step‑by‑step walkthrough (from the video)
This video shows what a viewer experiences when they open a protected document link in DocKosha:
- they must verify their email using a 6‑digit OTP, and
- they must sign an NDA,
before the document viewer is unlocked.
Step 1 — Open the protected document link
- The page loads with the document content blurred in the background.
- A modal/popup appears to guide the user through access requirements.
Step 2 — “Email Verification Required” prompt appears
You see a popup titled “Email Verification Required” with:
- an Email input
- a button like “Send Code”
- sometimes a small shield icon (security indicator)
What to do:
- Click the email field.
- Type your email address (the email that should be allowed to view the doc).
- Click Send Code.
Step 3 — Wait while the code is sent
- The button temporarily changes to something like “Sending…”.
- This indicates the system is sending a 6‑digit OTP to your email inbox.
Step 4 — Enter the 6‑digit code (OTP)
After sending, the popup switches to a verification view:
- your email is shown (with an option like “Change email”)
- a field appears: “Enter 6‑digit code…”
- a button: “Verify”
- a helper line like: “Didn’t get the code? Resend in XXs”
What to do:
- Open your email inbox.
- Find the OTP email and copy the 6‑digit code.
- Paste/type the code into Enter 6‑digit code…
- Click Verify.
Step 5 — OTP verification runs
- The button changes to “Verifying…” while the system checks the code.
- If the code is wrong/expired, you typically re‑enter it or wait for Resend to become available.
Step 6 — NDA requirement message appears
Once email verification is successful, a new popup appears:
- Title: “Non‑Disclosure Agreement Required”
- Message: you must verify your email and sign the NDA before viewing
- Button: Continue
What to do:
- Click Continue to move to the NDA signing flow.
Step 7 — “Sign the NDA” page opens
You land on a page titled “Sign the NDA” with:
- Full name field (blank initially)
- Email field (already filled; shows Email verified)
- an Agreement Preview panel (embedded NDA document you can scroll)
- an option like “Review before signing”
What to do:
- Enter your name in Full name.
- (Optional) Scroll the Agreement Preview to read the NDA.
Step 8 — Choose how to sign (Type vs Draw)
Near the bottom, there are two signing options:
Option A: Type Signature
- A panel labeled Type Signature
- Typing your name generates a signature-style rendering
Use this if you want the fastest signing flow.
Option B: Draw Signature
- A panel labeled Draw Signature
- You draw using mouse/trackpad
- There is typically a Clear action to redo it
Use this if you want a more “handwritten” look.
Step 9 — Accept and sign
- Click Accept & Sign once:
- your name is filled, and
- you’ve chosen a signature method.
Step 10 — System processes the signed NDA
A loading popup appears:
- Title: “Processing your NDA”
- Message: it’s generating the signed NDA PDF
- It asks you to keep the tab open
What to do:
- Don’t refresh or close the tab.
- Wait for processing to finish.
Step 11 — Document viewer unlocks
After processing:
- The document opens in the built‑in viewer.
- The top bar shows something like “Shared via DocKosha” and the file name (e.g.,
Theory of Everything.doc). - You can see:
- page navigation (e.g., 1 / 6)
- zoom controls (e.g., 106%)
- common viewer icons (search, fullscreen, refresh/rotate depending on implementation)
Result: the user can now read the protected document content.
